LIVING PINK

John Hughes was the mastermind behind nearly every teen angst blockbuster in the 80s, and Pretty in Pink (1986) is definitely one of the best. The cast is dreamy, the story line connects with everyone's inner 15 year old but it's definitely the wardrobe that makes us watch over and over again.
Everyone wore large, loose shirts, rich boys wore suits like there was no tomorrow, shoulder pads, spandex, crazy layering and flashy accessories were a must. Duckie (John Cryer) was always styling with his crazy white shoes and irreverent approach to fashion, and of course Andie (Molly Ringwald) being from the wrong side of the tracks, made her own clothes so that was an added bonus, a very pink bonus.
